Evangelism Part 11: The Revealed

Evangelism Part 11: The Revelation is the message for our awareness and not to scare us.

We all know that the Jewish people do not accept Jesus as the Messiah; that they are still waiting for the Messiah to come. How we may all wish that the Jewish people cry out loud that the Messiah has come, just as the disciple Andrew did in John 1:41 NIV.  The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, Christ). If only the Scribes, the Pharisees, and other Jewish sects believe that Jesus is the Messiah the waiting is over because Jesus is back as he said: “he will come back soon” . The Jewish people don’t believe that Jesus is the Messiah and they are still waiting for the only One to come. Many Millennialists gave up their belief when they didn’t see Jesus at the turn of the Millennium, while the preterists  believe that Jesus got back and he is in our hearts.

Jesus expressed his sorrow about the coming destruction of the temple because of the rejection of the people he was sent to  save.  He said this farewell message to them: “See, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord’ ” (Matt 23:38–39). Earlier, in Matthew 23:36, Jesus warns that the judgment will come on the same generation as he said it. This prophecy has been fulfilled when the Romans destroyed much of the city, including the Second Temple in 70 AD.

When Jesus predicted this event,  they coming out of the Temple, and were walking away when his disciples came up and drew his attention to its buildings. “You see all these?” replied Jesus. “I tell you every stone will be thrown down till there is not a single one left standing upon another.”

And as he was sitting on the slope of Mount of Olives his disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will this happen? What will be the signal for your coming and the end of this world?”—Matthew 24:1–3

Jesus responded, these things would be fulfilled within a generation- Matthew 24:34. But he’s coming to the answer was that no one would  know the hour of His coming—not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only- Matthew 24:36. Jesus revealed the future  destruction of the temple and also his coming that none of them will witness.

Signs of the time will be witnessed by many but they might not witness his coming in a glorified body. There will be wars and rumors of wars, like what we are witnessing now. For example,  the threat that China is doing to take Taiwan by force; Iran’s  threat to Israel is very clear, China’s intimidation to take the South East Asian countries, Russian’s  plan to take Ukraine and so forth.

There Famines in some parts of the world, earthquakes and volcano eruptions, floods and extreme climate changes, nation rising against nation, people hurting people physically and verbally. These are all signs of the coming end and will happen as it is written.  It is inevitable.  We can feel now the pains of the future life. The world is so corrupt that it must end so that a new life will be born with no more worries, no more pain, and no evil thoughts.

People all over the world will witness these signs with fear, horror and regrets, but sinning against God’s law still continues. Although signs of the end time are being manifested all around,  people only talk about it but never walk away from their wicked life.  People continuously sin, some  use the situation to advance their luxurious lifestyle, some walk away from religion and many believe that all the prophecies are for the Jewish people and has been fulfilled. The end was not fulfilled in Jesus’ generation and he said: “When the good news of the kingdom has been proclaimed among all peoples, then the end will come”—Matthew 24:14.

The involvement of the non-Jewish people of the world is due to their voluntary submission that there is one sovereign God, the Savior, the Almighty One.  Although the people failed so many times about following His command to love Him and respect one another,  with that kind of love that God gave us, being human it is expected. And there is no doubt we are part of the end time; one world, one order, one end.

Though we are not the chosen ones, we believe that we are called and responded to be God’s children.  We also  believe that God also made the non-Jews special in His heart and wants to be with them from here to eternity.

As Isaiah 63:16 says: “Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham is ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O Lord, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.” KJV; In New Century Version it says “You are our father. Abraham doesn’t know we are his children, and Israel doesn’t recognize us. Lord, you are our father. You are called “the one who has always saved us.”

God is all in all.
